To protect life and property in our community through prevention, education, training and investigation while providing fire protection, rescue, medical and life support services in sudden emergencies created by man and nature.
The Riverport Volunteer Fire Department is located at #3802 Highway 332 in Riverport, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia and provides primary fire and Medical First Response to Riverport and the surrounding communities. Serving the community since 1946.
We have 38 volunteer members that respond to all types of emergency calls, fire calls, on site rehab, motor vehicle accidents, ice rescue and medical calls. We average 80-90 calls per year. Of the 38 members we have 10 Medical first responders that care for the members of our district.
Our members are a caring and dedicated group of individuals that are here to serve and protect you with the most up to date training. Without the services of the fire department in the community there would be more unnecessary losses and tragedies. A person does not realize how important these people and the services they provide really are until they are the one explaining to a 911 dispatcher the particulars of their own emergency.
Thank you for your continued support and visiting our website.
